DIRECTOR’S REPORT    August 2009

Beauty for Ashes (BFA) is completing its 5th year of operation.    We work in tandem with other homeless and social service providers in Madison, Delaware, and Grant Counties to help meet the overwhelming requests for shelter from homeless women.

Within the past year Beauty for Ashes has provided services to 18 families, including 9 children.  In fact, 25% of the bed nights furnished by BFA were beds filled by children.  And, 50% of the 18 women have been in their 20’s.

Women accepted into the BFA program have a goal of individual growth and the drive to better their lives, to get more education, to get a job, to develop the resources they need to move on into permanent housing.  Their stay at BFA is based on their continued progress toward emotional and spiritual healing, self-sufficiency, and personal goals they have established.
